Puppy lesson: This is why we are not allowed to play in the street

Sasha on morphine after coming home from the hospital...

Sasha learned the biggest puppy lesson this weekend. Why NOT to play in the street. Sasha was playing, smelling and not wanting to come when I called her. She then saw the mailman crossing the street. She so wanted to greet the mailman walking across the street. Unfortunately there was a big SUV driving very fast that had a driver more intent on talking on her phone than watching the road she was speeding down. Sasha realized she was in trouble when it was too late, she tried to spin around quickly, but the tires caught her paws. Her left paw pads were scratched up good, and her right paw has two broken bones. Poor girl.

Sasha X-rays, if you look closely you can see her right paw two metacarpel bones in the center of her paw broken. :(

As for the lady that hit her? She stopped her car long enough to look at the mailman on one side of the street, shrug her shoulders, then look over to me trying to console my injured puppy. Then.she.drove.away. I will be the first to admit Sasha was in the wrong running into the street, but to drive away without checking if she was okay??? At least hang up your phone to acknowledge you just hit an animal! Absolutely unbelievable!

POOR SASHA!!!

And I just cannot believe the woman. Ugh. Did you launch large objects at her?

That happened when I was a kid to Kerry's dog. Woman speeding down the street, dog running wild in the yard and we were all trying to catch it, darted into the street and the woman nailed her and didn't even stop. All four of us kids were screaming and crying. Her husband came down that night to apologize for her. (Rolling my eyes.)

Some people are just so clueless! Well, she'll get hers...karma always comes around.

Glad little Sasha is ok!
